The winning entry was submitted by Heather, from team Viewpoint Stepaholics.
I think it is an opportunity to continue the good habits of walking more that I have started over the last 8 weeks. Not automatically taking the car, lunch time walk, taking the bus and walking the rest of the way, going for a wee walk when feeling stressed - all positive moves now and for the future.
Kevin, from team Red Hot Chilli Steppers, started some new healthy habits during the challenge, and shared how he's planning to stay active to prioritise his health.
On day 2 I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Since the Step Count Challenge I have lost 16 lbs by going walks at lunchtime, changing my diet and going more regular dog walk in the evening. To help maintain my weight I pledge to keep this up
.
Marco, from team Parks Pacers, is going to continue organising lunchtime walks with his colleagues.
I have enjoyed organising lunch & walk sessions with my colleagues at work as part of the Step Count Challenge and I will carry on organising these walks. It's been great to connect with other teams and walk more during office hours!
Koko, from team Swaggering Swans, shared how she plans to take time to enjoy getting active outdoors.
I'm going to continue counting my daily steps and aim for at least 10,000 per day. I'll also continue viewing walking as a more positive experience (appreciating my surroundings) instead of a chore (just seeing it as a form of transport).
Louise, from team Holyrood Globetrotters, intends to keep taking active breaks during the working day.
Continuing to walk to and from work, going on lunch walks with the team and encouraging standing meetings, and taking breaks from sitting at the desk.
Richard, from Healthcare Improvement Scotland, is going to continue taking a walk at lunchtime.
Keep going with the lunchtime walks - they are a good way to force a screen break during the working day.
Mairi, from team These Proofs Were Made For Walking, intends to make the most of the natural world on her doorstep.
I'm going to try and make the most of being in an area with so much green space and spend more time outdoors this summer, even if the weather is a bit grey! There are so many nice walks nearby and it's easy to get lots of steps in when you're motivated by the view at the top of the hill.
Rona, from team CPS Walkie Talkies, is going to take a break from her phone more often and use her time to be active instead.
When my children are at activities and I have to wait, I'll go for a jog or a walk rather than sitting doing admin on my phone.
Ruth, from Actify, is going to take time for an evening walk to clear her mind after work.
Going to continue getting outside at lunch time for a walk with a friend, family member or colleague, so I'm away from the desk and screen. Also hoping to continue going out for walks in the evening after work so I have a chance to decompress.
