The winning entry was submitted by Callum, from team Strideclyders For Life. Callum shared a fond memory of a walk up a famous Edinburgh landmark.

I met my partner in Edinburgh on a sunny day for our first date when we were both students, and we went up Arthur's Seat together. I remember every single topic of conversation from that walk, and I have them all written in a diary from that time. After five years away, we moved back into Edinburgh into the same neighbourhood last month, and our first walk in the sun was going up Arthur's Seat together again. It felt like we had just met all over again.

Dominika, from The RaMuLay Crew, shared her memory of finding peace and tranquility on an island hike.

One of my favourite walking memories was climbing the highest point on Islay. It was an overcast day with bursts of rain, and the path wasn’t easy—but I kept going. As I reached the summit, the sky began to clear, and suddenly I could see everything: the sea, the hills, the island stretching out in all directions.

In that moment, all the big issues I’d been carrying with me felt small and irrelevant. Standing at the top, with the wind and silence all around, I felt a rare kind of peace and perspective that has stayed with me ever since.

Katie, who is also a member of team Strideclyders For Life, shared a memory of a rain-soaked but laughter-filled walk with her colleagues.

A few summers ago my colleagues and I used a bank holiday to make the trip across to Arran for a walk around the coast. We had a great adventure exploring Brodick Castle gardens and enjoyed a long walk on the beach, and got caught in some typical Scottish summer torrential rain! We were absolutely soaked by the time we got the ferry home, but it was still a fabulous day because we spent it together!

A big thank you to everyone who shared their walking and wheeling memories with us. Keep an eye on our email updates for details of next week's competition!
