5 Schools Challenge Week Two
Week two is here! Explore the natural world
It's already week two of our 5 School Step Count Challenge, and we're off to a flying start. Altogether in week one, there were 3,384,373 steps recorded so far, which is the equivalent of 1,602 miles. If you've been out and about this weekend, don't forget to update your steps.
Drum roll please...
Our first winners!
Well done to every team who signed up to participate in the 5 Schools Challenge.
Best Team Name
The competition was tough for best team name, but we had to choose a winner… So, congratulations to the following teams!
The Unemployed Dinosaurs – Bellahouston Academy
Feet on fire; A race to the finish– Greenfaulds High School
Silly Steppers – Lasswade High School
Please visit your school’s Active Travel Officer – Alex, Gavin, or Izzi – to collect your prize of a £10 Sports Direct voucher.
Don't worry, these are just the winners of Best Team Name - it’s all still to play for this week for the winners for the most steps!
Connecting with Nature
This week’s theme is ‘Connecting with Nature’ and we’re encouraging you to get outside and immerse yourself in nature. Spring is truly spring-ing, can you spot any daffodils when you’re out and about?
Get inspired by trying this week’s mini challenge: Go out and explore a new green space.
One way to see more of the natural world is to swap out your usual lift to school or to football club by walking instead.
Good luck and… go on! Get your steps in!
